Great Sale at AG!

If you go to the Sale Page at AG, I think you'll be surprised! They have Saige, MG and Cecile, and old JLY items at super awesome prices! The Winter Chalet is only $60! Check it out, especially if you missed Saige and her collection.

(Looking at this nightgown reminded me of how sad I am that Marie Grace and Cecile, Ruthie and Ivy are retired). :(

Things Are Flying Around + Samantha!

By things flying around I mean time. Wowza!

Can you believe it's almost been a month since I posted last? Crazy. I've been playing volleyball, oboe, saving up for a DSLR (squeee!) and starting school tomorrow!

Don't worry, I'm still in love with blogging!

So, Beforever showed up. Right? For the most part I'm kind of "meh" about the whole thing. It seems like they're just gearing the line towards younger girls. Kit's outfits are fluffy and pink, so are Julie's.

BUT AMERICAN GIRL DID SOMETHING RIGHT! *gasp*

And that's Samantha.

I can't tell you how happy I am that they brought Samantha back! She has always been my favorite doll - always. I was first introduced to AG in 2008 when I read Meet Samantha (my mom, who was a teacher, had the book in her classroom) and started saving up to buy Samantha. I ended up using the money on something else instead, but I still love her! Sure, the collection is a bit pink, but can we talk about her Holiday Set?

Wow, yes! I love it!

I really do like the whole clothing line for girls that came with Beforever, too! I would wear almost all of the outfits (except for Julie and Rebecca's) and the styles are really in tune with today's girls! So yeah, I'm not overjoyed, but I don't hate it, either (thanks, Samantha)!

A Summer Day

Hey! It's Saige. So today, while Dally was at volleyball practice, we had some fun.

Which basically means lying around with nothing to do.

Shola came in to the room and looked at us, sprawled out on the floor. "Do you want to go outside?" She asked.

"I'm okay," Lucy said, "Too much work."

I stood up. "I'll come with you!"

"Soooo, what do we do in the 'great outdoors'?" I looked at Shola.

"We could climb a tree." She suggested.
"Yeah, there's one over there!"

"Wow, it's beautiful out today!" Shola muttered.

I nodded. "Yeah, it really is!"

Shola stood at the base of the tree for a moment, then started to climb.

"Be careful!" I shouted from my safe position on the ground. "Don't hurt yourself!"

"Come on," she laughed, "it'll be fine!"

So I hoisted myself onto the lowest branch possible and looked at the ground.

"I-it's a long ways down!" I called in a nervous voice.

"It's safe!" She said. "Just don't let go of the branch!" As she said this, I let go of the branch to pull a strand of hair out of my eyes.

"Ouch." I closed my eyes for a few moments and listened to Shola jumping from the branches to get down.

"Are you okay?" She asked as she came over.

"Yeah, I'm fine." I said and grabbed the hand that she offered, pulling her down into the soft grass.

So, even though I fell out of a tree, today was okay because I got to spend time with my lovely sister!

What do you do on summer days?

Oh Ma Goodness Me

July has flown the coop, eh?

Yeah. Not funny.

Anyways, camp went great! I such a great time! Oh, yeah, and so was band camp. And 2-a-days in volleyball have started smashingly. But obviously it's hard to fit doll stuff in there. I'm hoping to put up a photostory tomorrow! *Hoping*

Yeah, so, I wanted to let you know that I'm alive, as usual. Also, I've gotten two awards (or tags and such) while I've been gone, and I wanted to say thank you! I'll try to do that tag soon.

The Doll Rush

You've probably heard that American Girl is retiring four dolls as they prepare to release the new "Beforever" line.

Ugh.

Yeah, I'm not too happy about these changes, and I'm not sure that I've met many other people other than the designers at Mattel who are happy about it. Mattel is retiring all of the BF dolls as well as Marie-Grace and Cecile (but we saw that coming, didn't we? They never sold well). It sounds like this is kind of a last reach thing to get younger girls into the Historical Line. I think that they're going to be doing a lot of changing and downsizing.

We come to the question that a lot of collectors have been asking: Is the true vision of AG dead?

If the title doesn't make sense to you, don't worry. I'm getting to that.

Whenever AG comes out with a limited edition doll or they announce that they are retiring a doll, do you get that sudden urge to buy? I have had my eye on Ruthie for quite a while, and when they announced that they were retiring her, I started making plans in my head of how I could save up enough to buy her A.S.A.P. But I hadn't been so zealous to buy her until I knew that she was being retired. She didn't barely cross my mind before! I don't know... I just wanted to give you some advice. Don't buy a doll just because it's retiring. Buy a doll because you think that it's something that you would use, and something that would improve your collection.

So, tell me: What do you think of this new line?

I'm Plumb out of Ideas!

Hey everyone! You've probably noticed that I've been lax on posting lately, and the fact is, I don't really have any ideas!

Anyways, let me know what you think.

(Hopefully you'll see a real post soon! XD)

But still... I took these photos of Shola right after I opened her (It's been a bit now), and I must say, she is STUNNING!

See ya soon!
