Sorry.

I don't think I'm going to be able to post the Easter craft... I'm sorry. I hope you all had a glorious Easter!

Did you know that the GOTY 2014 is going to be a ballerina! I really hope that she doesn't have lots of fru fru ballet outfits. I would also want to audition for the movie, if I had more than preschool ballet skills. :)

Also, I know that I've been saying this a lot, but I think that finally I'm going to buy something from AG! Hope! :)

I'm sorry that I don't really have more stuff to post. I've taken a lot of pictures of my new doll, but I'm not going to post them until I get a few more guesses. :)

I did it.

I have another doll now. But I'm going to make you guess who it is. :)

Sorry, I'm not going to practice the requested Easter Craft until tomorrow. Have fun guessing!

In honor of Del's UPDW

Yes, it is not national Unpopular Doll Week, but it is at Delaney Love's AG. And I hope she doesn't mind if I contribute to it. :) Now, I only have 3 dolls, and unfortunately there is only one super unpopular doll. Poor Marie-Grace. :(

She's actually a pretty doll... but I think I'm having guilt because I bought her instead of Kanani. :)
Anyways, she insisted to dress up as a Ski Bunny even though the sun was shining. She's wearing the sweater from the frosty party outfit, the legging from Saige's Sweater outfit & Saige's Meet boots.

Only now I noticed that these were kind of blurry... oh well, I was in a hurry.
Ugh. But she is really pretty. I remember when people were saying that she looked exactly like Elizabeth... Well I have both of them, people and they're totally different. Although I was kind of sad that Marie's (Nicole) eyes aren't really aqua, her face mold is unique and her hair is really silky.

Thanks to Delaney for the inspiration! (I hope you don't mind that I used your idea... I will still send you pics!)

Maybe some quick photo tips?

The wonderful AmericanGirl1972 is a regular contributor of ideas around here, and she just asked if I would post some photography pictures! I was honored that someone would ask ME for photography tips. Because just a little while ago, in January, this was what my pictures looked like:
Ugh. Anyways, I'm not going to draw this out, just going to give you a few tips that really helped me improve:

~Look at other blogger's photography! That was how I started improving. I studied what angles they took the photos at, what lighting they used, and how they edited photos. Some of my favorite photographers are Anna at Doll-it-up.com, Delaney at delliesdolliecorner.blogspot.com, and Emmy at throughtheeyesofadoll.blogspot.com, to name a few.

~Lighting. This is probably the most crucial thing, in my opinion, for taking photos. Artificial lights (aka anything other than the sun that gives of light) will not improve your photos any. It would probably be better to take a picture with the lights off. You can't go wrong with taking pictures outside.
This is pretty nice lighting, right? This is when the sun is shining directly into the doll's face.

In this picture, I turned her away from the direct light, making it look more professional.

~Focus. Wait for your camera to focus in. It could be your doll's face, the background, or her shoes. But blurry photos won't make you happy.

Whooooo. Yep, take a deep breath. :) Whenever I find that perfect photo that I love, I take a deep breath before clicking it. And take several, because you might not be happy with one focus, but another one? You'll be like, "Thumbs up!"

~ Angles. Don't just take pictures of your doll's face straight. Go for a bird's eye view, down to the side, or whatever you think looks best. I don't really like holding my dolls up, because I think natural poses make pics look better. And if you see a great picture with your eye, just remember that it's at a different level than your camera, so if you want that photo to look exactly like you're seeing it, move your camera up to your eye.

This is one of my favorite pictures. :) Angle could be everything!

~Backgrounds: When you are taking a picture of your doll, look for a background that will accent her clothes, her eyes, or her personality. I'm sorry, but I don't really want to see a your cluttered room in the background of your doll picture. I chose my house's rustic wall and an old car that accents her southwestern attire.

I'm not crazy about taking pictures of doll shoes.... I guess unless they're on pianos or cars. :P
Aw, what a cutie. If you want to see some more of my favorite photography, you can find them in these posts:

Well, This wasn't a long break
Wellllll

These are probably my two favorites. :) I think I'll go mess with my dolls now.

Well, this wasn't a long break

I decided to just post a little something before I go back into the dark shadows. :)

I'm sorry. I just had the urge. Anyways, I was contemplating this for quite a while, and now I have decided that I think I want to do this. What do you think about renaming? These names would probably be permanent, and I don't usually do this, but I thought it might be fun. So here are the options (most all out of Lord of the Rings, some from other places): And if you're worrying that I am totally consumed by LOTR, don't worry. I will snap out of this phase soon. I hope. I'm going to post one name per doll, and then I'd like to leave it open to suggestions, so here goes.

Saige as Arwen. ☺

Elizabeth as Eowyn. ☻

And Nicole...... I'm uncertain...... I'm thinking maybe Elanor (From LOTR too), but I will need suggestions.

But don't leave yet! There is a photo shoot, requested by AmericanGirl1972! These pics are from today, since it was almost like summer outside! And I decided to post almost all of them, untouched. I hope you don't get bored. :)

And also, remember that these photos might not be the best, because all I have is a Canon Powershot. :) But I still love taking them!

Oh, and P.S.: I would love your suggestions for names, just please don't feel offended if I decide to keep a name or change it to something other than you suggested. Thanks!

Breaks. *sigh*

Yes, I'm going to take a small break. It just seems like dolls are starting to consume my life, and I'm thinking about them more than God. So I will come back soon, just going to take a little breathing space. Oh, also, this is my 50th post!

March 4, 2013

Laaaaaaa la la.

Molly. Molly. Molly. The chant has been raised. Why? Because of retirement. I actually like Molly and I think it might be good to get her before she's gone. Should I? Would I? Now that the trumpets have been sounded, and there is loud murmuring about retirement, I'm just kinking. Make that thinking. I hope I can find a doll at Goodwill someday.

Finally..... what we've all been waiting for.

It's Saige. You know that post a week or two? Well, if you ever have to go in for a follow up appointment at the doctor's, DON'T GO! Well, I guess you could go, but I warned you.

So I decided not to wear my knee brace. Mom didn't know, because I would always put it on after school, but obviously the doctors could tell. When I got there, a nurse who looked a lot like my cousin Lucy handed me a hospital gown and told me they were going to take X-rays.

After that, she suspiciously went over and started talking to Nicole, who had come with me.

And then she ATTACKED ME! Well, sort of. All I know is she came in and put a cast on my leg. Why? Well, let me tell you I will always wear knee braces from now on.

Anyways, at least I got my hand cast off. And trust me, I will wear the wrap!
Plus, mom wouldn't spend the money for crutches, and since Lizzie is gone at camp, I have to use her wheelchair. Ugh. Hopefully you won't hear from me again.

A Sparkle of Inspiration, Eh?

Yes, again, AmericanGirl1972 is quite inspiring. ☺ She just commented asking me to do a review on Saige's Sparkle Dress. And so I will. You might notice that my new photos with a post aren't up yet, and that is because I was watching more of the Two Towers. In the words of Aragorn, "Not a word."

Ah, Saige's Sparkle Dress. First let us do an overview of all the pieces, and then we shall ride on to the great verdict!

~Dress: This dress is a really fresh twist for AG. It has iron-on sparkles (That remind me of fireflies) that crawl from the bottom of the ruffled skirt to the wide shoulder on top. The dark pink cross-ties really add some dimension to the dress.

~ Shoes: Ah, the gold boots. While I'm not a big fan of the plastic heels, these tend to make your eyes pop out. Quite gold, and quite charming.

~Necklace: Phatooey. This looooong necklace looks amazing with the sweater outfit. But what's the use of a necklace that gets caught in your dress waistband? And silver and gold? The old girl scout song CLEARLY states that these are not the same. ☺ Marie Grace's gold locket, on the other hand? No reason to spit on that.

'Tis a very nice dress. In the words of Samwise, "I'm your (dress)." If it calls to you, I would get it. It looks perfect with Saige.
